Art & Culture award. Wine Tourism 2022
Verona Wine Tourism
Winery awarded in the category: ARTE E CULTURA (Art & Culture)
2022 Edition
Art is a distinctive mark of your Winery: why?
We of family Piona Albino strongly believe that Art is a distinctive element.
"Art" is beauty expressed in every form, from photography, through painting, up to acting.
We consider it as a unique discipline: a witness of the present time, a way to display our personality and sensibility.
My father Albino used to say: “Grapes form a palette of colors that the wine-maker masters following his personal artistry”: a poetic license to convey all the uniqueness that can be achieved with the work of a human being.
We have been organizing arts events over the past 13 years now.
Before the pandemic, our cultural season used to start in April/May and to end in September/October. Due to Covid restrictions, all events implying close contact with other people have been canceled. Arts events have taken place nonetheless, more interesting than ever!
Nowadays, you may enjoy a photo exhibition at our Winery: “L’uva - La trasformazione” (Grapes – the Transformation). It has been organized with the support of the photo studio Officina Zero6 (and was developed throughout last year): seventeen photographers prepared seventeen panels to express their idea of "Transformation" – individual and peculiar ideas that make for a very interesting exhibition.
Moreover, during this year 2021 we have been cooperating with various artists:
- Laura Ottolini, an artist working with Raku pottery: we have worked together to prepare the label of this year's Magnum Bottle for Collectors “Magnum da Collezione”, a project which have been expressing uniqueness over the past 13 years.
- Anna Schettin, one of the major Italian calligraphers: she has drawn the label of a line of sparkling wines, Estro Di Piona.
- Francesca Tiso Mora, an artist: she has helped us in giving value to a brand new line of varietals with a dreamlike work to show the countryside all around Ca' Palazzina, the place of origin of these wines. The painter Claire Basler should be mentioned as well, as she has inspired us in the choice of the colors for the labels.
They are all interesting and substantial projects which deserved this award!
All our projects and collaborations are shown on our social channels and website: follow them and keep in touch!
