Con piacere comunichiamo che, a seguito delle degustazioni effettuate dalla giuria tecnica presieduta dai sommelier Enrico Fiorini, Gianluca Boninsegna e Marco Scandogliero, i vini “Bardolino Chiaretto DOC 2017” e “Bardolino DOC 2017“ hanno ottenuto le tre Arene della Guida ai Vini di Verona “I Top 100” edito dal gruppo Athesis.
Saranno quindi inserito di diritto, nella classifica dei 100 migliori vini della produzione Veronese.
For four generations, in the Albino Piona winery, every bottle uncorked is a new story, the wine is the voice narrating battles won and anecdotes. Albino is the third generation of a family of wine artists and former president of the Consorzio di Tutela del Custoza, who chose as his motto: "grapes are the palette of colours that the winemaker uses with mastery". The same mastery has been handed down to his offspring - Silvio, Monica, Alessandro and Massimo - who are as skilled as their father. Albino launched the winery with the humility of those who work the land and the courage of those - like his forebears - who accept good and bad weather, while his children continue the business inspired by values that are both tangible - growing area, rows, cellar - and intangible - experience, traditions, strategies for the future. Albino's family run the winery with well-defined roles, suited to the skills of each member. Silvio, the eldest son, oversees the tasks that turn the grapes into wine and then the cellar operations, from winemaking to bottling; he is assisted by Massimo, an agricultural expert, who supervises the vineyards and all the decisions in the field that will lead to a good harvest, respecting ripening cycles and without use od chemicals. Alessandro takes care of marketing the product, while Monica is involved first-hand in communication, personally designing graphics, direct saleto the public, meeting and greeting for visits, tastings and cultural events.
BARDOLINO CHIARETTO DOC 2017
With a focused pink hue and well-dosed glycerine, this Chiaretto from the Piona winery speaks volumes about the care that Silvio lavishes on all their wines. The stylish nose is brimming with plum and morello cherry, followed by the typical character of Corvina, seen in delicate notes of sweet spice, with pepper and hints of citrus, rounded off with flowery scents of rose and violet. Forthright in the mouth, it shows soul and character, and at 13° ABV is pleasing rather than aggressive.
Pairings: bigoli pasta with Cantabrico anchovies, Sushi and Sashimi appetizers, fish filet
BARDOLINO DOC 2017
This Bardolino displays a beautifully intense garnet red hue with a ruby rim. Complex and aristocratic, the nose immediately reveals the Piona hallmark, which follows tradition and the slow pace of the seasons rather than changing fashions. This translates into elegant spice and smoky notes, combined with sour berry fruit, regaling the elegant aromas of an old-fashioned perfumer's shop. The well-rounded palate speaks of the territory, where the rows are tended and managed in the best traditirons of quality viticulture. Not to be missed.
