Life: the viticultural history of the family goes back to the great-grandfather Albino, who opened a winery with a trattoria in 1893. Though, the conversion to wine production only takes place in 1976, whereas the new winery was unveiled in 2005. This is the reason why these two years are to be considered as its real milestones. Nowadays, the winery is a proud family-run business, where the father, 79-year-old Albino, is surrounded by his sons and daughter, Silvio, Monica, Alessandro and Massimo.
Vineyards: the vineyards are spread throughout four municipalities, where the soils are all of morainic origin: the red gravel soil in Villafranca, the mixed soil of the hill in Sommacampagna, the clay soil in Valeggio and the alluvial soil in Sona, where the most important crus are to be found. The vines are cultivated on a double guyot base. The rows are from 150 to 250 meters high.
Wines: our story starts with Custoza 2018 VINO QUOTIDIANO, where the pleasant and intriguing floral and sea hints flow into a clean and deeply sapid sip. Bardolino Chiaretto 2018 attracts thanks to the notes of saffron and grapefruit you can feel both to the nose and in the mouth. Bardolino 2018 is extremely interesting indeed: of a pleasantly pale color, at first it displays notes of crisp fruit and pepper, then it leaves pace to a powerful palate, outstandingly fresh and sapid. Verde Piona is simply the symbol of the winery: refined in the bottle, it offers citrus fruits and freshness to the nose, followed by a vertical and vibrant palate, evolving then in a higher degree of mildness and creaminess - as a second tasting of year 2017 can show.
